A Safe Bet

When we first began renovating our new space back in February, we learned that a very large, very old, and very heavy storage safe had been left behind by the previous tenant. Since we were not able to move it out, we decided to turn this liability into an asset. We removed the shelves, repainted it, and filled it with giftware. We have vases, book ends, ceramic love birds, candlesticks, scarves, a wooden motorcycle photo frame, glassware and melamine dishes. You will be sure to find something that says "take me home!"

Must. Have. Enamelware.

Oh how we love the retro color combi- nation of lime green and cerulean blue. Aren't these enamelware dishes just everything? Each place setting comes with a 13" patterned charger plate, a 10" white dinner plate, an 8" patterned sandwich plate and a 6" patterned bowl.

This metal/porcelain dishware is made to last forever; it's stain resistant, chip resistant and dishwasher safe. Ovenproof too. It is not microwaveable unless you want a blow up the appliance and end up with a house full of buff firemen. (OK Andrea, step away from the microwave ...)

$75 per four-piece set.

Purple Passion

Do you have eight friends? Are they thirsty? Then you must have this one-of-a-kind item. Beautiful dusky lavender and white highball glasses nestle in their own caddy. Mid-Century Modern at its finest; it's the prettiest barware we've seen in a long time. They're so nice I would even drink tomato juice out of them (and I HATE tomato juice). $65 for the set.

Get the Party Started

How cool are these? Vintage serving trays from the '50s feature a beverage holder in the center and room for snacks. Stackable in four colors: green, blue, bronze and red. The red one has a tiny scratch on it but when you pile on the pigs-in-a-blanket no one will be the wiser. $20 for the set.
